- Yay for Avatar NOT winning best picture. Inglorious Basterds shoulda won Best Original Screenplay. Up best picture. Coraline best animation. #
- Lee Ranaldo playing live scores to Brakhage films? I might have to see this. #
- Found a new (used) engine for my scooter! Hopefully it'll be running again soon. I miss being mobile. #
- Despite being sick (again) I got a lot done today. Mailed a DVD to another film festival, bought a motor, and recorded some bass guitar. #
- Yay, they have von Trier's Antichrist streaming on Netflix now! Definitley not safe for work though. Better watch this one at home… #
- I'm just going to lie here in the sun and listen to Stereolab for a bit… is that ok with the rest of you? #
- Have to watch The Blindside at work now. This movie is blind to its own racist undertones. Yay for wealthy white people. Gross. #
- OMG they just had 'Big Mike' look at a Norman Rockwell painting of a white family and then flashed to his terrible childhood. Gross! #
- Oh now the white family is letting him say grace with them at Thanksgiving. Double gross!! #
- Now they're in the ghetto and a black man just said 'Shorty'. How scary. Be careful Sandra Bullock! Triple gross!!!! #
- Back to The Blind Side. Wow Sandra Bullock was just polite to an agnostic democrat. Contact with a black kid has changed her! Gross x 4. #
- Is science like a lens being focused in ever smaller turns, a snapshot of reality growing sharper but never completley in focus? Probably! #
- In contrast to the subtle racism of The Blind Side, I now had to watch an overtly racist Charlie Chan movie! What's going on here?? #
- So apparently the Texas School Board just voted to remove Thomas Jefferson and The Enlightenment from history textbooks. Ignorance = scary. #
- It looks like Jefferson wasn't completely removed, but there will be no mention of his influence on revolution. Still… WTF!!! #
- More info about what Texas is up to here:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/13/education/13texas.html?hp # - Saw Antichrist last night. Now I'm watching Sixteen Candles and feel much better thank you. #
